Recommend Software?
« on: Wednesday 02 May 18 17:05 BST (UK) »
If no one minds me asking this...I have done huge amounts of searching on Find my Past for my Griffiths family and it is almost finished.  As I have said on here before the downloaded gedcom files are no good to me as I can't open them.  Last time a kind member opened it for me but what I would really like is advice on whether there is a simple software program that will let me open my tree and edit it on my pc OR something like a blank template that I can type in all the names, dates, spouses and children in a format similar to a family tree.  I am hopeless at free hand otherwise I would write it all onto a large sheet of paper.  I have looked at "Gramps" but it will be too laborious to start from scratch on that. Hope you can help. Sue

There's a lot of software that you can import a Gedcom file into!

Brother's Keeper
Family Tree Maker
Legacy Family Tree
RootsMagic

To name but a few! ;D

Some are free (all those above, except Family Tree Maker).
Many you have to pay for.

There is a whole sub-board on the subject:
