John and Catherine lived all their life in Llanaelhaern and Trevor(Trefor). Catherine died 7 March 1929 and John on 12 October 1929. They are buried in Llanaelhaearn.
They had 12 children 10 of which had survived by the 1911 Census in Eifl Road, Trevor.
Emyr there are many other newspaper reports on Robert Evans some of them amusing. The first traffic offence I found when he was fined for leaving his horse and cart unattended on the turnpike. Robert had a stubborn streak, when the vicar in Llanaelhaearn died Robert agreed to buy his cow but then refused to pay when the cow suddenly died. He was taken to court and lost. Robert’s barrister told the reporter that he had advised his client he had no chance of winning.
Here is an obituary from the North Wales Chronicle. 18/6/1915
Mr Robert Evans, cattle dealer, Llanaelhaiarn, who was 77 years of age, died very suddenly yesterday week.
For over fifty years he carried, on business as a cattle dealer and was well known throughout North and South Wales. In his younger years he used to walk cattle to Birmingham, London, Bradford and other places, and would be on the road for a week or more during one journey alone.

Seeing the post from Trevor, who is relatively new to Rootschat, i thought I would give an update. Trevor and i have been corresponding by e-mail for the about a month where I have given further information on the Evans family as well as some research on his Jones side of the family. I have got back as far as Trevor's 2xGGrandfather William Jones (c1791-1862). William was born in Clynnog where he married Mary Thomas on 16 July 1816. Six months later William remarried Ellin Jones in Llandwrog on 20 February 1817. I can only assume that Mary died in childbirth since there is a Margaret baptised in Llandwrog on 8 June 1817  whose parents are William and Mary Jones of Llwyn Piod which is the home of Ellin's parents.
I can not find any burial record for Mary which may be because the 1816 ones for Llandwrog appear to be missing. On the off chance has anyone got the MI's for Llandwrog and check if there is a grave?
Trevor sent me some old family photographs he had obtained when visiting Trefor in March. One of girls which he had no information on I have posted here to try and get a date.

Hi Glyn,  I've really enjoyed reading through this post and have come to realise that you are my cousin.  My dad, Harri Vaughan, is your mum's youngest brother, born 1924.  I remember staying at Frondeg once or twice but I was really young then.  In addition to your mum, other aunts and uncles names I remember are Netty, Meurig, Emlyn, Ivor and possibly Alwyn. I know there were many more but never met most of them because I was so young at the time and lost touch with the family.  I'd really like to know more about them if you could help me please.

Thanks in advance
Carole
