I remember you posting something, but I can't exactly remember what it was.
You'd have to ask a moderator  :-\

There is a death of an Eliza Ann Danby, aged 57, at South Shields in December 1904.

We're looking for Matthew's widow,  Elizabeth Ann Bowey. Danby was her maiden name  :D

I am still wondering if the 1906 Elizabeth may be Matthew's wife.  I realise she would be 5 years out in age but I think that type of thing happened.  Perhaps the person giving the death information didn't really know.

I have an ancestor who aged from death notice by the time she got to the burial register. ;D  Mistakes happen.

I wonder what your friend will have to say about this.  I wish I had thought about this earlier and checked the Elizabeth notice today.  That would have definitely ruled things out one way or the other. ;)

There is also a Heaton History group but I can't remember their contact details now.  I think they would likely have info on Matthew.I

Added: Just saw your post Jen after posting this one.

I am still wondering if the 1906 infant be Matthew's wife.  I realise she would be 5 years out in age but I think that type of thing happened.  Perhaps the person giving the death information didn't really know.

You could be right. It depended on the informant. Age of death on a DC can be notoriously unreliable.

I can't see Elizabeth in 1911.

Well, my curiousity is well piqued now  .. I am going to try to get to the library after work next week.  I will let you all know if this is Elizabeth.  I do tend to think this might be.

Hopefully, it will be and Xenia will be able to pass another notice to her friend.

Also, that memoriam about hoping to meet in heaven. .. I wonder if they also intended to meet again in the cemetery and may have the same plot number...

Hopefully, all will be revealed soon ...

If xinia or her friend email bereavement services with the plot number as I suggested earlier all might be revealed sooner than you think  ;D
