Burgess, Phebe b. 1797 Thatcham

My GGG Grandmother Phebe Burgess was born 26.5.1797 at Thatcham, her Mother was Hannah.  She was christened at Thatcham on the 18th June, 1797.    This is all the information we have on her parentage.   

She later married Henry Rufey in 1819 and died on the 14th December, 1866 at Shaw cum Donnington, buried at St. Marys Church.

I am looking for any more assistance, to connect with the rest of her family members.

Am thinking now that we know John Withers was a widower at the time of his marriage to Phebe Burgess, have found a marriage for John Withers on the 13.8.1792 at Thatcham to Hannah Woodingdon.   So just need to find some Parish Records to verify any children from this marriage, and any subsequent children to Hannah Burgess.   It would seem that maybe Phebe Burgess was born out of wedlock.   Still trying to find birth records for Hannah Burgess as well.

If you go to this site, you'll find many records taken from the IGI and I believe some that have been added since the IGI was first set up;

Go to Berks, then T = Thatcham there are several entries for this parish and you then choose whether its births/bapts or marriages. I found some baptisms for Withers with parents John & Hannah after 1801 which would indicate they were still alive. I didn't see any for a John & Phoebe - perhaps they moved away to another parish.

The only Hannah Burgis I found was bapt. 1788 - rather young to be the mother unless she was a late baptism, which has been known to occur.

Thanks for that info Alan that John Withers was a Widower and previous Wife was a Hannah also.

I had found several children to John/Hannah post 1801 Marriiage but earlier children to a John/Hannah has confused me. So that sorted it all out!
