Note that the second name is Ellen not Eleanor.

Well I tried finding a birth record for a Frances E Barrett in 1854 Oxfordshire and came up with nothing.  Nil on freebmd and nil on GRO.

That is what inclines me to think that this is Carol's Frances.

Those replies are very interesting thank you. Frances Ellen?! I found one on Ancestry for 1856 and decided that that was not my Frances but yes, 1852 is correct - born in Wytham but registered in Abingdon. I guess it depends on which record one looks at. I do wish people didn't change their names!
I'll have to check the census entry as it depends who she was with. Where's Warwick in comparison with Wytham/Oxfordshire? I need an atlas!

Confused now over how many Frances E Barrett there are! 

Do we have both anywhere at the same time ie the one born 1852 and the one born 1856 or is it just a mish mash of them both like either/or.

For info the one in Warwickshire is under Frances E Barratt with
