myluck! - your theory may prove true.
James Bell ( 1822 - Carlisle ) his father was indeed called James ( his mother called Isabella.)
So following this logic that would mean then if Bridget's daughter was called Mary then Bridget's mother was called Mary too.
So what I am looking for is a Bridget Foley with birth parents called a William Foley and a Mary
( somebody ).

It is interesting for me to note that James & Bridget Bell went on to have a few more children - two boys and two girls.
Girl called Bella ( namesake of James' mother Isabella ? )
Boy called William ( namesake of Bridget's father William ? )
Wadja think ?

It's a theory!! just proof now!

I note that Bridget and James married very close to the birth of their eldest child
This could have been the reason it was in the Protestant church rather than a Catholic and might also explain why she may not have married in her own parish.

The other thing to remember is that her parents could have moved into the city after her birth

If her parents were William FOLEY & Mary HANIGAN/KERRIGAN
She possibly had a brother named Edmond bap Jan 17 1836 in Killeagh
Father William FOLEY mother Mary HANNIGAN

Also unfortunately BARRY is a common Cork name for attempting to make a definite connection
Best of luck...

Found something which to me is odd...but maybe not to you.
Was looking through familysearch site and found marriage for Bridget Foley and James Bell on 28 March 1859 but one is in St. Anne's which is what we know but the other is in St Luke's ( would this be Bridget's birth parish perhaps ?). Odd that do you think ?

I believe that there is a chapel (or was) named St. Luke's in St. Anne's Parish
I am not sure but it maybe that the church they were married in was St. Luke's in St. Anne's parish.
