Welcome to Rootschat

You don't say what kind of WW1 record you have found and you don't give any service number for him.

Is it the Medal Roll Index?  If so - his service number was 33188

Over 60% of WW1 service records were burnt in the WW2 blitz

Leonard/Lenard is shown as born 1892 on the 1901

Cook being a common name you need a bit of qualifying info.
Have you looked at the Liverpool Absent Voter's list to see if he's the right one ?
Or do you have a service record. did he survive?

And a warm welcome to Rootschat from me.

It would be helpful if you could let us know what information you have already found.

Were these men brothers?  Cousins?
Have you found them on censuses (1901 or 1911) - their birth years and parents would help when searching for service records.
Do you know if they survived the war?

One note of caution - are you sure the Leonard in the 19th KLR is yours?  Not all people joined their local regiment, so you would need confirmation (service record giving next of kin or address, photo in identifiable uniform etc)

Please don't be put off by the barrage of questions - once we are clear about what you are looking for, Rootschatters are friendly, fun and fantastic at digging into the past.

registration records

when son George Frederick was registered mmn was Weirner
son Lenard                                              mmn was Warner
son William and his twin sister Helena       mmn was Verner

So be aware of many variations of their mothers maiden name.

John Cook married Margarethe Werner 1885 Lancashire

Nikki has not yet confirmed exactly what type of info is being sought but has posted on the WW1 board so assume it is service records for the 3 brothers.

Although “Hans” is shown as born Liverpool I can’t see a birth reg so it’s possible Hans was a pet name for perhaps Henry??

Parents were both born Germany but have anglicised christian names
