There are a couple of on-line trees with some entries supported by indexes etc which suggest that Sarah SPENDLOW, 20, arrived with her parents, James and Maria SPENDLOW, and siblings into Geelong, per ship Medway in August, 1849.  Sarah is noted as a widow and her married surname ASHBY is noted.

The family's "Native Place" is given as Pollocks Hill, Bedfordshire.  on the nsw assisted immigration record Sarah's age is given as 24, 20 on a different image.  Occ: housemaid.  Some of her family list their religion as Baptist, other as C of E.

Hmm - one of the on-line trees has their Alice Jane DAVIS, daughter of William Thomas DAVIES and Elizabeth BROWN marrying a John Thomas PARSONS in 1904 and children with surnames PARSONS  born to that couple 1903-1917. This Alice Jane PARSONS dies in 1964 in Ballarat.

So have we been tracing the wrong Alice Jane?  The marriage certificate for your Alice and  Llewellyn Ronald ROBERTS should give her father's name and the image of the certificate can be downloaded immediately. I note on the Victorian death index her father is given as William DAVIES and mother unknown.
