As it follows on from descriptions of tattoos, does it mean that he had a ring tattooed on in the middle finger of his left hand? I don't see why they would record a ring as that could be removed - wouldn't they take that off him anyway when he was admitted to the prison?

Never considered that it might be a tattoo. This would tie in with the other tattoos as described in the image.

The middle finger is central to the hand and is the longest finger, from Googling middle finger left hand
