Probatum year in latin - COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 08 May 18 11:05 BST (UK) »
I am assuming that the following probatum was dated 1st January 1660.

I am having trouble with the latin after mill'imo. Can someone please tell me what it is?

It looks like "sexcen'mo sexagesimo"  :(

Regards
Grantley

... mill(es)imo sexcen(tesi)mo sexagesimo = 1660.

But as it’s 1 January and stilo Anglie, it would be 1660/61.

ADDED -- Looking more closely, I see it's tricesimo primo die Januarij = 31 January, but the same would apply as regards the year.

Thank you Bookbox.

Obviously, I totally ignored the “tricesimo”, mainly because I had trouble with the writing.

I am glad that you spotted it and corrected me.
