George Budd Bettesworth
« on: Tuesday 08 May 18 23:43 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to locate the 1911 census return for George Budd Bettesworth and his family. I know that George signed up for service in 1915 in the Army Service Corps, and gave his address as 1 Evans Terrace Abercynon. George was born in 1876 in Sussex, and at the time of the 1911 census was married to Elizabeth Kate Cook, and had children Edith Kate, Alice Francis, Grace Marie, Lilian Mary, Dorothy, and George Budd junior, William Charles, Catherine May, and Nellie. William Charles was born in 1911, and his birth was registered in Pontypridd, as were the births for Catherine and Nellie.

I can't find an Evans Terrace in Abercynon enumeration district on the 1911 census - could it be somewhere else?

I can't find George's death, either, and I'm struggling with tracing his wife's parents too :(

Oops didn’t know that about the 1911 census. So, any ideas where Evans Terrace might be - parish, district or enumeration district so I can browse the census for myself? I’ll post more about the family over the weekend :)

:) that’s them. Now my searches on Ancestry and FindMyPast should have found them as I searched with the surname bet* !! When I get back home I’ll redo the searches and try to work out why they didn’t work first time.

Were you still not able to find the 1911 for them from the Familysearch link?  Depending on which site you use they are transcribed as either Bettsworth or Bitterworth, living in Llanwonno, Glamorganshire.
MORGAN: Glamorgan, Durham, Ohio. DAVIS/DAVIES/DAVID: Glamorgan, Ohio.  GIBSON: Leicestershire, Durham, North Yorkshire.  RAIN/RAINE: Cumberland.  TAYLOR: North Yorks. BOURDAS: North Yorks.
