Family of Mrs Mary Best prior to marriage to Henry Jeffs

I'm looking for information on Mary Best prior to her transportation to Van Diemen's Land (Now Tasmania), and after her marriage to Henry Jeffs.

Ancestry indicates alias Ann McCann, Ann Wilson and Ann Roberts (Australian Convict Transportation Registers)

Mary Best, transported to Van Diemen's Land 1846 on Sea Queen for 15 Years.
Her age is given as 29, married and native place is Leeds Yorkshire.
One of the images seems to indicate possible relatives.
There are 4 images available at Archives Office of Tasmania, I can provide links here, however it may be a copyright issue?

Permission to marry granted 2 July 1850 to Henry Jeffs, transported 1845 on David Malcolm. (Off Norfolk Island per Tory May 1847)
They married 22 July 1850

Henry Jeffs remarried 1862 in Melbourne to Mary Ann Lewis, they had 2 children prior to this marriage in Van Diemen's Land, 1859 and 1861. (I have a copy of this Marriage).

FindMypast has the image of Mary Best's letter of appeal against her sentence of 15 years transportation. In that letter she claims to be the wife of a "John Newlove".

Cannot find a marriage of a Mary Best and John Newlove but there is this marriage (image on FindMyPast) -

John Newlove and Mary Bestington, 19 Jun 1837 at Leeds, St. Peter, both of the Parish of Leeds.
One of the witnesses was a Mark Bestington.

The marriage was reported in the local paper, John being described as "an engineer". As yet unable to find couple in 1841 or 1851 Census.

Mark Bestington Bap 25 October 1812 at Leeds Saint Peter, Yorkshire to Mark Bestington.

and there's

Mary Bestington Bap 22 JUN 1817 at Leeds Saint Peter, Yorkshire to Mark Bestington and Charlotte.
