Possible death for Florence Pepper?
« on: Friday 11 May 18 12:55 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Florence was born Florence Harding in July 1872. She married Frank Pepper in Newington in 1896. Their only child to survive infancy was born in late 1902. Frank died in Ireland in 1922. No idea what happened to Florence. However, I did a bit of digging and found this:

Florence Pepper married ? Shepherd, 1927, Southwark
Florence Shepherd, died 1928, Wandsworth. Name given as Florence H Pepper. Year of birth as 1872.

Year of birth matches up and maybe using H as a middle name for Harding? Some married women did refer to themselves this way; one ancestor referred to herself as Mary Thompson Sands.

Can anyone find out anymore about this?

Hello,

Free BMD would give you Mr Shepherd’s full name which might help people.
Where did you dig to find the record?

FamilySearch. It didn't give a full name, just Shepherd.

GRO - Florence Shepherd who died Wandsworth in 1928 has the middle name of Hannah.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

This would be more useful

Or just click on Florence’s name on FS and the groom’s name shows. :)

Where did Frank die?

There is a 1922 death in Cork reported by daughter Irene. Is that him?
