Deciphering French birth certificate
« on: Saturday 12 May 18 08:56 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to transliterate the birth certificate attached. I can read French but just can't understand the writing!
Thanks in advance

BIRTH CERTIFICATE of Charles Michel Fumeux born yesterday at six o’clock in the evening at Recouvrance, son of Jacques Louis Fumeux, shoemaker, and of Florence Chernu, his wife, married at Bastia (Corsica) the 20th October 1834, domiciled at rue de Couillon No. 16.

The sex of the child has been recognised to be male in the presence of Jean Michel Soubie, quartermaster of works, residing in rue de Lapointe no.15, aged 47 years, who signs, and of Jacques Victor Joseph Ballau, carpenter, residing at rue (illegible) no. 15, aged 24 years.

Upon requisition made to us by the father of the child present who signs with the second witness.

Recorded according to law by me Augustin Pierre De Bourgues, Special Deputy, performing the functions of Registrar, the undersigned, after reading.

Cheers,

Rodeo
