This might be Mary in 1881:

Maureen

Which is still 'Elizabeth' for mother but different family to the Robert / Elizabeth I had with Mary.

Although Elizabeth is not needed if new person for Mary cause Robert / Elizabeth as parents were taken off the BC for Mary 1872.

For some reason Mary's birth doesn't want to show up but I found Robert

Lets all sit down guys as info fitting together !! lol

On this census James Hawthorne (Marys Dad) is a .................dyer which was information I was working on :) Although there was a big Dye Factory in Offord Lane, Manchester around the time so probably the main employ.

Still good.

UPDATE

I have today rec'd the Wedding Certificate of John Duffy & Mary Hawthorn.

It puts both John and Mary at age 24 which is different to my gathered records (?) but can be worked on.

It gives the Father of Mary Hawthorn to be James Hawthorn (Dec'd), which fits into this posts earlier finds and confirms James to be father not the Richard I had. :)

It gives John's father as Edward Duffy - Farmer, which is the first piece of information I have for paternal line earlier than John :)

Certificate Witness' appear to be Edward 'Ainsworth' and the mark of Elizabeth 'Ainsworth' not the parents. Understandable re James Hawthorn but does that suggest Edward Duffy was not at the wedding ? John has come over to Salford, Manchester UK at some stage and was born in Roscommon Ireland so could Edward have remained in Ireland and ancestors are Irish based moving earlier up the line?

We have the right Mary H and the right Hawthorn parents confirmed by this. And Johns fathers name to work on. :)

As Edward Duffy is not noted as deceased, it is probable that he was in Ireland.
So many Irish records were lost in the Dublin fire, but there is a chance of church records surviving, though not all are available online.

The trail is warming up!

Thanks Philip

It is indeed warming up. :)

I will see what the internet offers re Roscommon churches (pretty certain Catholic) for Edward and seem to remember that John Births Certificate was Latin name written so will bear that in mind for Edward :)
