I think the words up the side of the photo say Phillip something Footballer?

Since Phillip was written twice, I wonder if the postcard was just a means of remembering the name during a discussion, as it was the only thing handy at the time. The first name, "Philip" then the "Philip Mountbatten" written where there was more room. The third name, "To James Samuel" being the prospective recipient of the postcard showing the photograph of the team.

Ah yes that's a point. My husband has a letter from Harrow Council offering him his first job in July 1966,on the back his mum has written 'socks for Mary'.She must have been short of paper and just wrote her shopping list on anything she could find
