There are 46 people called Lindsay in Derbyshire.  I take it that you don't wish to share the actual name for the moment.

Bear in mind that anyone currently alive will have their record closed.

I can't share what I don't have. I also am not asking anyone to help with  possible wild goose chase looking for people called Lindsay. All I have is hubby's dad was born 3 years after his mother's husband died, but he took his name.
His middle name is Lindsay and family lore has it his father was a Lindsay but no proof.  It was a shot in dark hoping a man of that name lived close.

Oh I see.  So this is a bit of a shot in the dark really.  You don't have enough information for a definite search.  Unfortunately it may be something that you never get to fully discover.

Family history can throw up mysteries that however hard we try, we cannot solve them due to lack of the correct information.

Yes it's impossible really but I keep chipping away at it. started this search  for hubby couple years ago, he sadly passed away end of March, I am doing it for him, if that makes sense.

Thanks for your interest.

Yes, it does make sense.  This is your way of doing a memorial to your husband.  :)
