If you are on Facebook, there is a 'Motherwell Past and Present' group which you can find through a search.  Some posts are just chat, but quite a lot of people share photos and memories of life in Motherwell over the period you are looking for and beyond.

I've got nothing to do with the group, other than being a member as I came across it looking for photos of the areas my own family stayed in around Watsonville, Flemington and Craigneuk.
