Hi,

I have been struggling for 6 months to get my grandfathers unabridged death certificate.
Home affairs in South Africa are "searching" continually, even though I call and escalate the request almost every week.

I am looking for someone who searches the archives, whom I can pay to do this for me.
I have search using the online search function but found nothing.

I have my grandfathers name and ID number.
I also know where he died, the hospital, and the funeral service company (all of which don't keep records)

He died in Pinetown, Durban, South Africa in 1980.

If anyone is able to help me, please let me know.

Link to same request to save duplication of effort;

If you're willing to provide details of his name, is it possible he has been registered wrongly i.e. a transcription error or if he was known by something other than his actual forename or similar?

Just a suggestion as to what can occur.

Someone reading this may even offer to have a look while they're there if you can provide an actual date?

I suggest you contact Bunnyhop in Durban. Just Google the name and send them the info. They will advise you as they deal with Home Affairs daily.
