April 29th
  Dear
         (Sisie/sister?) just a few
Lines to let you know
that I received your
kind and welcome letter
alright and was glad
to see by it that you
was well (in crease of letter)
leaves me the same at
present, Franky Webster
Is away home on leave
so I was telling him to
go up and see you you
can give him a drop of
the hard/hand ?  Out to me.
We are getting very
Good weather now so
it is just about time
that we was getting a
change, I haven’t got
the box that you sent
For my Birthday
Present yet but I am
Expecting it today, we
Have gotten a terrible
terrible spell of the trenches
This time we have been
in six weeks and there
know signs of us coming
out yet but it can’t be
Long now at the longest.
The next time you write
To Pod you can tell him
That Alex Samuel is
asking for him not for
getting myselve, tell
Joe that Lewis Pirie is
asking for him,
Well at all at present
from your brother Willie

         Write soon

         To Mary xxxxxxx.
               From Willie

Added, sorry I have left a few capital letters at the beginning of lines that were generated by the return  button.
