1939 National Registration
« on: Monday 14 May 18 08:46 BST (UK) »
It might be worth reminding forum users that the 1939 National Registration is now available to any online providers who wish to licence its use.

From 2015 to 2018 the 1939 was only available through Findmypast (who were given a short exclusive contract in order to try to recoup some of the vast outlay they expended in digitising the records) and at the National Archives at Kew, since earlier this year My Heritage licenced the transcriptions and made them available on their website and lately Ancestry have made available the images and their transcriptions on their website.
I envisage other companies will licence and make available the images and transcriptions when/if they consider it commercially viable to do so.

As far as I am aware it is still only possible to have a record opened (un-redacted) through either Findmypast or the National Archives, Kew, but this may change in the future.

Cheers
Guy

Hi Guy and all out there

This question may already have been asked, but does anyone know what is on "Page 2" of the 1939 register, I've come across info that has sometimes been cut off, the attached states "Special Constable" but sometimes I've seen info cut in half which is slightly frustrating. Just wondered if anyone knew if there were other details on page 2 and why it's not shown either on FindMyPast or now Ancestry.

Regards
