Looking for a marriage between John Green and Catherine Mack
« on: Monday 14 May 18 16:37 BST (UK) »
Hi I hope some kind person can help me solve this mystery. I have recently obtained a birth cert for my 2x great grandfather, Thomas Green born 1851 Chorlton on Medlock, Manchester. His parents are listed as John Green and Catherine Mack from Ireland. So far I have been unable to find a marriage for them in the U.K. Which has led me to believe that they may have been married in Ireland. Their first son John was born in 1845, again Chorlton. So I was wondering if the marriage took place before 1845. Any help would be terrific. Many thanks

You could try

https://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/

put in name

and year ranges
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Yes, they are listed as being visitors at Taylor's court, Chorlton on Medlock. Thomas is down as being 2 months old.

It helps if you give the census reference
1851 2220/635/34
It is difficult because it is one of the damaged pages
On ancestry your Thomas is shown as son to another couple and there is no sight of John snr as the name cannot be seen.

Thomas Green was born 1851 Chorlton on Medlock so Marriage was probably before that.

Thanks hallmark.
I realise that but I was trying to find the family to get an idea of age etc.

You see I can see the birth of Thomas with mother Mack but not John as yet.

Now I have found 1851, there is also a child Mary but I can only see a mmn of Mahon.

I was just trying to clarify the information.
