Scott,

Welcome aboard as a newcomer to the conference!

The primary resource for information on individuals born prior to 1800 comes from church records.
[Though they might gain a mention in the newspapers within later life?]

Can you indicate their likely church adherence?
[The "State Established church" (aka the Church of Ireland) (should have) included details of all of its parish's inhabitants, regardless of persuasion.  The CoI church located at Antrim town is one of only 4 churches whose records extend back in to the 18thC.]

Addresses within Ireland usually indicate a townland (within a parish).

Unfortunately "Ballymena Antrim" is ambiguous.

The "Antrim" name is given to the county, as well as the parish, townland & town.

Ditto for "Ballymena", such being the name given to disparate townlands within Co. Antrim.
[Such are also subject to historical evaporation over the years, as boundaries changed.
 e.g. the one near Glenavy.]

Can you supply any further information on the exact geographical area and/or the records from which you have composed your query?

Regards,

Capt. Jock
