There’s a Norwich marriage for Jacob Willement and Sophie Jary in 1854; maybe they moved to Newcastle?

Looks good, though I am struggling to find them afterwards!

Dad has another helpful name change by 1891  :)

35 Heaton Park Rd South, Byker

Joseph Smith Head Mar 57 Baker Newcastle upon Tyne
Annie do Wife Mar 57 Norwich
Edith do Daur 18 South Shields
Meggie do Daur 13 Newcastle upon Tyne

RG12/4214/29/6

Could the move from Norwich and the name change(s) be linked - getting away/hiding from someone?

Interesting that they used their correct names for the birth registrations (and, if we have the right Edith, on her 1892 marriage).

Norfolk News, 30 Jan 1864

On Saturday, Jacob Williment was charged with illegally pawning two feather pillows and other bed furniture, the property of Mr Sharman, tailor, George St.  The prisoner and his wife took furnished apartments of the prosecutor just before Christmas, and suddenly left them a few days ago.  It was then discovered that a portion of the bed furniture had been removed, and subsequently this was found to have been pledged.  The prisoner had been apprehended that morning in Norwich by Sergeant Berry.  The prisoner admitted the charge and pleaded poverty as his excuse.  He had been in the receipt of 12s a week.  He was sentenced to two months' imprisonment.
