Thankyou everyone for your help.
I didn’t know about Francis Pascoe.
I found a James Henry, but cannot find birth records
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/182692676/james-pascoe
Do you think the Elizabeth Pascoe who married a Thomas Langsford is the correct Mary Elizabeth born 1853. It would explain a cousin in the Trove article of Francis Pascoe.
I did find a Mary Elizabeth Pascoe who married a Benjamin Phillips in 1872 SA
If the Henry Pascoe who died in 1908 is the Henry Pascoe born 1851,that would explain why Amelia would be in WA

What were their parents’ names?

Amelia was born 1828/29 St Just Cornwall - 1841 census shows parents as James & Elizabeth

Henry was b 1822/23 Sithney Cornwall - parents John & Margaret

The Cornwall marriage record had the father of Henry named as Francis.
http://www.cornwall-opc-database.org/search-database/more-info/?t=marriages&id=562864
Henry's baptism record in 1822 named his parents as Francis and Mary.

Daughter Mary Elizabeth did marry Benjamin PHILLIPS.  Five children were born between 1872 and 1884 at Moonta Mines and one daughter was named Amelia Steer!  The PHILLIPS family also moved to Broken Hill where Mary died in 1921.

Hi,

The South Australian Police Gazette Jan 18th 1882 on page 12 has reference to a watch being stolen from William Henry PASCOE of Government Gums.

Amelia's death in WA was placed in the Broken Hill newspaper and mentioned only the two sons living in Broken Hill at that time.
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/44250801

Son Francis died in WA later the same year as his mother.

The LANGSFORD and PASCO(E) marriage was at Liskeard in 1850. Elizabeth nee Pascoe died aged 72 in 1896 at Hawker SA.

Baptism records have Elizabeth born c1824 to Francis and Mary who lived at Churchtown in Sithney parish and obviously a sister to Henry.

A William John PASCOE died 14 May 1890 in a mining fatality at Broken Hill. The inquest report and funeral directors named him incorrectly.
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/44050419
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/44050353

NSW death index names him as William J - no parents named.
W J PASCOE was a member of the Broken Hill AMA.
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/44050491

This William married Emily WILMOTT  in SA in April 1884.  However the marriage record named his father as William Henry PASCOE??
At the inquest Emily said her husband William was born in Australia and was aged 31. The only William born c1859 in SA was Henry and Amelia’s William born b. 2 Jun 1859 near Watervale.

The confusion of names may be attributed to indecipherable handwriting??

Wow. Interesting information.
Is the James I found on findagrave a son. The birth date confuses me. 1853.
As I have Mary Elizabeth being born l852/53.
I can’t find any birth records in Cornwall or SA. Their voyage was in 1853. Could he have been born on the boat !

James PASCOE aged 25, father named Henry, married 12 Oct 1879 to Margaret Hannah TREZISE.
I think it more likely he was born in 1854 since Mary Elizabeth was registered either Apr/May/Jun 1853.

Ok. Thank you. That makes sense.
James and Margaret are related. 2nd cousins I think .
Amelia Steer -  son James
Hannah Steer - son William Trezise 1837 - his daughter Margaret Hannah 1860.
My GGG Grandmother is their sister Jane Steer married to John Jennings.

I found 8 children for Henry 1851. Would that be correct?
