Phillis Lacy?
« on: Wednesday 16 May 18 17:50 BST (UK) »
Hi
I'm trying to locate Phillis Lacy/Lacey's parents.
She marries John Howlett 1 Oct 1721 Norwich, Norfolk. Some records mis transcribe her as 'Phillip'
I haven't been able to find a burial either for her.
Any help appreciated.

FindMyPast has -

Transcription = "Philips Lacy, male, bap 25 Sep 1685, father John, King's Lynn, St Margaret with St. Nicholas

However, looking at the image of the original, I think the character indicating sex may well be "D" (daughter) not "S" (son) as interpreted by transcriber.  Based on comparing it with the character in the preceding entry for Alice, daughter of Seth Garrard.

Thank you for your replies.
I looked at the image myself and that certainly looks like a ‘D’ and follows the same handwriting.
This seems to be the only “Phillis Lacey” about. Puts her age as about 37 if she is the one marrying in 1721 although her and John Howlett only seem to have 2 children. A Robert and Francis.

Her father John Lacy I have as marrying a Elizabeth Hill/Holt ‘Widow’ 1682 Kings lynn, so I assume Holt isn’t her maiden name.
She dies in 1686 and John remarries to an Alice Goodwin in 1687.

Did he or any of his siblings leave a will, where Phillis might be mentioned establishing a relationship.
or any of the Lacey family?
