As has been said 1870's & I would suggest mid-late decade.
In her 20's I think & she appears to have a wedding ring in the 1st. which she doesn't have in the 2nd.
Often unmarried women hid their left hand, sometimes kept a glove on or covered it with the right.
In this she appears to be pointing to it. This is often seen with married women but not singles.
It's quite possible she's sending a message to someone... I'm waiting.
It obviously worked.
