Researching this family for a friend here   Her direct line is James Liddle married Elizabeth Selkirk They married 10 May 1814  in st cuthberts Edinburgh Midlothian    Elizabeths Father was Listed as John   James liddles father Not listed
Is anyone researching this family please

Could this be Elizabeth on the 1851 Census ?
120 Fountainbridge , Edinburgh , Midlothian.
Elizabeth Liddle 60 widow b. England
Mary Liddle 36 dau. b. Peebles Peebles'shire
Jessie Liddle 22 dau. b. Edinburgh Midlothian
(FreeCEN).

Familysearch have daughters of a James Liddel and Elizabeth Selkirk -
Mary born 1815 Peebles
Jessie born 1829 Edinburgh Midlothian

Scotlandspeople has a death Elizabeth Liddell(or Selkirk) , age 74 , 1864 St George(Edinburgh) Midlothian , mother's maiden surname Clark.

Assuming James came from Edinburgh
James Liddle s of John Liddle and Beatrix Mack at St Cuthberts 12.1.1788.
Brother Joseph 24.10.1789 and John 1.10.1791
They married at St Cuthberts 1.1.1787

One of James Liddells and elizabeth Selkirks Daughters was Named Dorothy Clerk(clark) Liddell   I thought the Clerk/Clark was a maiden name  Connected to this lot   As often families used Maiden names as middle Names
