Isabella Scullion b.1832 Ireland Edward Fitzpatrick b.1831 Ireland

Good Afternoon Everyone

The above are my GG Grandparents on my Dad's side. The settled in Gateshead, Co. Durham around 1857. This evidenced by the 1861,71 & 81 census reports. From Gateshead they moved to South Shields also in Co.Durham where they remained until they died.

All I have ever known is that they were both born in Ireland until recently. A DNA match with a lady Diane has uncovered:

"My maternal grandfather was Michael Scullion born in Ballyscullion West near Bellaghy in County Down, Ireland in 1869. Michael was the youngest of 9 children and his parents were Michael Scullion (born 1818) and Alys Scullion (born 1828). So he was doubly a Scullion!"

I have searched the area for both of them to no avail. I tried using naming patterns (James 1st born son & Nicholas 2nd born son) as respective fathers names with no success on Edwards side at all but some success on Isabella's side but no gold medal.

They seem to be ghosts.

Any assistance in unghosting them will be forever appreciated.

Regards

Chris

Just to note, in the information you received, that the townland of Ballyscullion West and Bellaghy are in County Londonderry, not County Down:

As these births of sons John and Michael to parents Michael Scullion and 'Alley' Scullion would indicate:

The Scullions were very prolific in the area, as evidenced by various sources like PRONI Will Calendars, 1901/1911 Ireland censuses, Griffith's Valuation...
