What regiment

I am trying to find out what regiment Henry Campbell (4/7/1910-24/12/1978) may have been in to progress research. It is known that he signed on in Woolwich before  Feb 15 1941 the date of his first marriage. At some point he was in Burma and it is believed he was a driving instructor. Any suggestions please?

Two major candidates, the Royal Artillery and the RASC, both of which would have had driving instructor and units in Burma..  Without more clues though, I'm not sure we could find even the haystack let alone the needle.

In any event, his records will still be with the Ministry of Defence. If you have his death certificate (you have his date of birth) then subject to the conditions you could apply for his records.  You don't need his regiment or his number.
