I can only imagine how many people there are named Tate, especially if you start looking up Tait, Thwaite, and Tayte as well.  I have numerous Tate relatives from Yorkshire and recently found other relatives in Durham.  I am still working on connecting Lancelot to my Durham relatives; however, the dates haven't gone back far enough.

How would I access the will that Radcliff mentioned?  I'm not in the UK.

As Radcliff mentioned in reply #31 you can access it via the North-East Inheritance database http://familyrecords.dur.ac.uk/nei/data/simple.php (a most useful website)
