An image of the marriage is available to view on the familysearch site via the Catalogue. All it says is Lancelot Tate and Margaret Hays by Banns.

Images of the Doddington BTs are also available. I have searched from 1769 to 1782 and there isn't a single Tate baptism during that period. Unfortunately 1782 to 1790 are missing.

I was thinking RSGrosse may want the 1852 marriage .. let me know if you want want this.

I will see what else there may be at the library too on microfilm and in the A-Z folders.  The latter is a brilliant resource.

I was wondering why the Thomas Tate, born 7 April 1805, is stated as first son of Lancelot and Margaret, when Lancelot born 1806 is also stated as first son.

Burial at Tynemouth :
Thomas Tate, late of Tynemouth, son of Lancelot Tate, Labourer, died 6 Sep 1805, buried 8 Sep 1805, aged 5 months.

Lancelot and Margaret have another son Thomas baptized Tynemouth 7 April 1816.  I think he's the one who went on to marry Ann Charlton (Tynemouth 1843).
