Bastardy Record from Chipping Campden - CHAMBERLAINE 1807
« on: Sunday 20 May 18 07:14 BST (UK) »
Hello fellow researchers,
I have been trying to figure out a way to get hold of a Bastardy Record for the following ancestors:

Mother:  Elizabeth Chamberlaine
Child:     Mary Chamberlaine
Place:     Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire
Date:      1807 (maybe 1808)
Record details:  ref P81 OV 5/49

I found an indexed record for the Overseers Index and then went to Gloucestershire Archives online where I can again see the indexed record, but I can't order a copy as I keep getting an error message (very frustrating!). I am wondering if some kind soul could find out what the outcome of the bastardy hearing was, and if a father was named.

Mary Chamberlain (aka Chamberlaine/Chamberling) is christened in Chipping Campden in 1809. She goes on to marry a Charles Manton, also in Chipping Campden, in 1826.

Any help would be much appreciated!
