Looking for Baptism of Harry Thomas LAXON abt 1907
« on: Sunday 20 May 18 07:24 BST (UK) »
Harry Thomas LAXON's birth was registered West Bromwich in the 4th quarter 1907 parents Thomas Smith LAXON and Mabel Annie DEW.

Harry was buried in May 1908 at Birmingham, Warwickshire.

Hoping for some assistance to locate Harry's baptism.

Hi Westy,
Harry's baptism doesn't get a hit on Ancestrys Birmingham collection. His two siblings do, Norman Frank Laxon (born 7 Mar 1910, bap 30 mar 1910 at All Saints Birchfield) and Roland Arthur Laxon (bap 21 Nov 1911 at Aston St Peter & St Paul). Do you know which area they were living in 1908?

Thanks Peter,

It seems the family moved around so perhaps elsewhere???

In the 1911 census they were at 99 Tintern Road Handsworth, Staffordshire.  Perhaps  Harry was born one place and baptised elsewhere?

Hi Again Westy,
When Harry was buried (at 7 months), at St Peter & St Paul at Aston, the family were living at 26 Clifton Road in Aston. However, 7 months is quite a long time and they could have moved. I looked at the register for St Peter & St Paul for the tail end of 1907 but couldn't spot any baptism.

Hello Peter,

Another mystery perhaps?  I was wondering if perhaps Harry wasn't baptised?  I have seen instances where a baby was baptised a significant period of time later but this is conjecture.  I imagine you too would have seen such instances.

Thanks for your assistance.
