Are you sure Rose's mother was Alberta Wilhemina Taylor

Rose's elder brother Charles William was baptised in Cape Colony in 1898 son of Frederick James and Minnie Bertha Allen (who is also named as Minnie on the 1911 census)

Frederick James Allen, son of Joseph William Allen born Mexboroug yorks, serving in the Yorkshire regiment in Rhodesia married Minnie Bertha Jansen on 3rd February 1896 (which fits with 14 years completed years marriage in 1911) at Holy Trinity Church, Cape Town. Occupation mounted infantry

That's from his service records. I can't see a matching record on the Regimental Marriages on FMPast though. (probably looking in the wrong spot....)
