Looking for Frederick Taylor and Alberta Wilhemina
« on: Monday 21 May 18 08:45 BST (UK) »
Hi Folks,
I've tried every way my limited experience suggested but I cannot any information about my husband's 2G grandparents Frederick Taylor and Alberta Wilhemina except for the birth of their daughter Alberta Wilhelmina in 1876  and the births of two older siblings Frederick Nicholas Lawrence Taylor (1870) and Mary (1871) all 3 in South Africa. Frederick Taylor was recorded as a farmer in the first two and as Market Master for Minnie.

I got no luck looking for the marriage of Frederick Taylor and Alberta Wilhemina on the South Africa Forum so I thought I'd try Yorkshire where Alberta Wilhemina Taylor and Frederick James Allen gave birth to a daughter (Rose Lily Allen) born 1911 in Wakefield, Yorks.

I cannot find when my husband's Grandparents (Frederick James Allen and Minnie) returned to the UK. I wondered whether her parents came with her - again, I can't find them.

Can anyone help me find more about these people?

First record mentioned -
"South Africa, Church of the Province of South Africa, Parish Registers, 1801-2004," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KYJZ-6TH : 6 August 2017), Alberta Wilhelmina Taylor in entry for Alberta Wilhelmina Taylor, 10 Dec 1876; citing Baptism, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa, p. 17, William Cullen Library, Wits University, Johannesburg.

Are you stating that this couple were producing kids in the 1870's and then has another 40 years later in 1911?

Don't think so sweetie. Human biology being what it is.

Can you point us toward the birth reg and the 1911 census entry?

Hi Pauline,
No I don't have the birth cert - date based on 0 age in 1911 census and mother-in-law's memory.

Found reg late 1910 - so 1910 more likely, I guess.

That's actually quite exciting. I know this is the right person so I'm not worried about Jansen, I'm just hoping it's a mistake and it's Rosa's grandma's maiden name.
