There's something in Hull Daily Mail, 5 March 1941.

Lived at Southcoates Lane, Hull.
Previously worked at Richard Field & Sons, as a traveller (grocery business)
He was a member of the Athletic Club.
He had attended Estcourt Street School, Hull.

He had been due to be married the following month.

There are two notices in the paper on 6 March:
BRITTON. —2nd March. Ron. aged 25 years, dearly beloved fiance of Molly.—Forever in my heart, my darling Ron.
BRITTON. March 2nd. Ronald Edward, aged 25. —We were all so fond of you. Ron. —From Mr and Mrs Hunt and family
