Hi
I am trying to locate a photograph of James Fitzgerald killed 12 August 1944 in France.
He was a sapper Royal Engineers.
Was married to a Nellie Cooke who is now dead.
They family  in Warwickshire at the time.
I know I am pushing my luck but am hoping.

It doesn't help much, but there is a reference in the London Gazette 19 Oct 1944 p4789 https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/36753/supplement/4789/data.pdf to
no 2154476 Lance Corporal John McCallam Fitzgerald, Corps of Royal Engineers (Didsbury)
(9th entry from bottom, left column)
Is this your man?  Possibly there might be an obituary in the Didsbury (Manchester) local papers.
