Thomas and Elizabeth Scare

Hello,

John Scare was born in 1785 in Trumpington to Thomas and Elizabeth Scare. There's no marriage record in that parish, but there is one in nearby Harston in 1779 to Elizabeth Netherwood. Can anyone see this record as indicating that Thomas was of Trumpington? He was baptised there in 1756 but I'm not sure if the aforementioned wedding is his.

Elizabeth Netherwood was christened in Harston in 1753. Her parents appear to be Robert Netherwood and Mary Newman, who married there in 1743. However, neither parents appears to have been baptised there. Can anyone see the record and what parishes the pair are of? There is a baptism for a Robert Netherwood in nearby Shepreth in 1710, so that seems the most plausible.

I'd appreciate any help!

The marriage is on FreeReg under the name Thomas Share and it gives his Parish as Trumpington.

It could just mean that they had both lived in the Parish for the required length of time to qualify to be married there. Neither of them has to have been born there.

Yesterday I found parish records for Great Gransden on FreeREG (only years were available on FamilySearch) so that was useful. It really is an invaluable resource.

I can find four possible baptisms for Mary Newman

3 August 1712 in Elsworth Richard and Judith
27 September 1713 in Botisham Robert and Martha
1 April 1716 Grantchester John and Elizabeth
4 September 1725 in Melbourn John and Mary

Elsworth and Bottisham are 10 miles from Harston, Melbourn is 5 miles and Grantchester is 3 miles.

Robert and Mary had the following children
Mary 1744
William 1746
John 1748
Robert 1750
Elizabeth 1753

Presuming they named Robert and Mary after themselves could William be for his father and John and Elizabeth for her parents? This is pure speculation but might be worth considering if nothing else positive comes to light.
