Tidy up this photo please & suggest if it's an occasion for Mabel and Vera

Hello attached photo is my grand-father's second wife & her daughter born May 1916 prior to their marriage in June 1918. I'm wondering if this may have been them dressed up for the marriage.

Any thoughts please

I would say it's highly unlikely as she appears to be wearing a wedding ring.

I dont think so either. I have a photo of a Great Aunt taken 1919 in a very similar outfit.
