Some 1871 residence places
« on: Wednesday 23 May 18 15:53 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I have numerous pre-downloaded 1871 census records (from Ancestry). However, many are very poorly-scanned and pixelated, making some details difficult to ascertain. I mainly use the online transcripts, but these often omit residence details for this particular census. Can anyone tell me where the following families were living exactly:

William Harding and co., living in Buckland Monachorum (looks like Melton Hill Farm?)
James W. Harding and co., living in St. Martin-in-the-Fields (looks like Martin's Court but not sure)
Benjamin Lipman and co., living in Whitechapel (looks like something passage)

I'd appreciate any help in reading these!

Adam
Lipman family of Aldgate - ends with Lewis Lipman (d. 1871, Bethnal Green), son of John Lipman 'late of Glasgow' (1856)
McGregor family of Fodderty - ends with Alexander McGregor (b. 1765, Fodderty), son of Murdoch McGregor and Kate Stewart

Correct! It's still a street as well. Thanks Milliepede.

William Harding - Melton Hill House

Correction looking at the census route on page 1 seems to be Milton not Melton.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos
