Middlesex Court Session 8 April 1833
« on: Thursday 24 May 18 01:39 BST (UK) »
Can sks help with Court report for 8th April 1833.
Mary Ann PEART aged 15 years was tried for "robbing from her parents" and sentenced to 7 years transportation to Van Diemen's Land.  Trying to find her parents names -- were their names mentioned in the trial or newspapers of the day.
Kind regards

Have looked at the newspapers for that year and haven't come across anything relating to Mary Ann's parents (findmypast). There was a Robert Peart in Whitechapel around the 1820's - a pawnbroker, or Abraham & Hannah Peart in Bermondsey (son Abraham b1821), engineer.
Good luck with your hunt.

Yes, born in Berkshire ( Tasmanian Records).  As her parents accused her I hoped their names were recorded in Trial notes or newspapers of the day.
Thanks for your interest.

Maybe someone who has access to parish records from Berkshire may be able to help you.

Looks like there may of been an earlier trial in 1830 involving Mary Ann but this time she is the accuser.

Ellen Barber, accused by Mary Ann Peart, her father being a greengrocer, of Tottenham Street, Saint Pancras, of using counterfeit money when purchasing a cucumber from his shop and by Charlotte Parker, of the same at her shop in the same street

The record is at the LMA  Reference Code:  MJ/SP/1830/09/022

There is a John PEART (widower) retired greengrocer of Tottenham St, born Beaconsfield, Berkshire in the 1851 census.
HO107/1494 / 303 pg 84

Modified to add:
This looks like him in the 1841 at Tottenham St:
John Peart       70
Charlotte Peart   55

HO107/686/29 pg 53

Can't see any births to this couple yet, but I think this is Charlotte - died Dec qtr 1848 St Pancras (1/288) aged 69. And possibly John died Dec qtr 1852 St Pancras (1b/82) aged 78.

And a possibility - John PIRTS (?) married Charlotte NEWBOULD 28 July 1805 at St Anne, Soho, Westminster (on familysearch)

There is also a John PEART married Charlotte COMMINS 3 Aug 1808 at St George Hanover Square (on FreeReg)
