Access file deactivated
« on: Thursday 24 May 18 07:17 BST (UK) »
I have been sent an Access file, I can`t open it  because it has been classed as dangerous.
I know who sent it and what it contains. I have other files he sent quite a few years ago in the same format that I can still open.
Any ideas, we both are stumped.

Can the attachment be sent in another format?

Or, is the complaint about an embedded file? In which case, get that embedded file removed.

Are you using Windows Live Mail ?

Dangerous file TYPE is mentioned. What is the full name of the file?

"You can’t give kindness away.  It keeps coming back". Mark Twain (?).

What you posted is an image of a message sent to Annette yet you say it's an email sent to you.

The problem here is I can`t find a menu on Windows Live mail.

To answer your question open Live Mail, in upper right on toolbar click on Menus-Safety Options-Security tab-Uncheck "Do not allow attachment to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus".  This will not change any emails you have already received but will fix future emails. If you have an email from someone that you want to open the attachment have them send it to you again.
