I was thinking “Auntie Flossie” was likely to be Flossie E Smith, mmn Stokes, Jun qtr 1913 Dudley.

Married I think to Harry Bradley, Dec qtr 1927 Dudley.

Ah - perhaps.

I chose the one who was daughter of Emma Priest Smith because she was with the Priests who had a shop  ;)

This marriage possibly for Flossie?

Marriages Mar 1937
Smith    Flossie E    Detheridge    Rowley R.    6b   1758

The 1939 shows her birth date to be 26 April 1913 which would fit a June quarter birth registration.

Yes that looks better.  I clearly hadn’t done the sums on my previous suggestion  :)

In the 1939 register there is a John Smith living at 19 Maybank Road, Dudley born 16 April 1877.

That's very likely Nellie's husband.
Number 1 in the household John Smith 16th Apr 1877
2) no name but some writing which my eyesight won't pick up, starts: Identity...........
3) James H Smith 24th Sept 1915

And James' birth
Dec qrt 1915,  Smith    James H , MMN Stokes    Dudley    6b   1681

I think it says Identity Card not issued - No something I can't read

There clearly is someone extra in that house - because it starts with a 2 - John being 1, James 3 - though there is only one line blanked out underneath then it starts with number 6 for that house - so where is 4 or 5

My, you seem to be locating them all. Detheridge is right He was called  Jack as I recall. I knew this man. I was surprised about the date of birth for Flossie. I was under the impression it was 2011 - as my father reckons she was 12 years older than him.  But he did say born just before the war - ie WW1. She was the last before him.
