Thorncliffe Crem is at the top of the drive in Barrow cemetery,
if he lived on Walney he could be buried at St Mary on the Island if he lived or had connections to Dalton he could be buried here, his wife died at Millom have you checked he isnt buried with her

Thank you for information. Unfortunately, I don’t know where she’s buried either - or cremated.

He married Hilda Mitchell in Yorkshire in 1946 which means his first wife Annie died between 1939 and 1946 or they divorced between those dates.

No probate found for either of them as a will may have included a burial request.  I suspect it may have been a cremation

Edit

Think Annie died 1940 - probably through childbirth as a daughter was born 1940.  Annie’s maiden name was  Whitham and they married 1937

No children appear to have been born to the second marriage

Are you descended from the daughter born 1940?

Yes, thanks Carole. I knew his first wife’s name etc. She was buried on 9 Jan 1940 ((Calverley St Wilfrid) but I didn’t know she had a daughter - and I can’t find her!. No I am not descended from her.
