If using Ancestry search for Edward Over b 1867 and then see who else is in the household (alternatively look for Anna Clear, as indexed).

I have just seen as much as I can without being subscribed and it's very interesting that Ada uses the Over name. I will go to the library as suggested asap to delve further. Thank you all for helping and pushing me in the right direction. I am desperate to find out what happened to Frederick.

It looks likely that the children belong to Ada and Frederick, but were born before they married.

Ah yes thank you. They are Ada and Frederick's children as far as I know born out of wedlock. Walter was my dad b 1918. Ada also had a son,Stanley before these who was adopted by the Watermans where she was lodging! I don't know who the father was to Stanley. So much to find out!

Birth registered as Stanley Richard Coomber, Mar qtr 1910 Gravesend, though as you have seen he later appears as Stanley Richard Cole Coomber Waterman.

I’d hazard a guess there may be a clue to his paternity among those names (have you looked for a Mr Cole in the vicinity?).

Pure speculation but there is an Alfred Cole (married) living at 37 College Street Northfleet in 1911 which is 24 minutes walk away from where Stanley and Ada are living.

Sadly the Westermans (who adopted Stanley) had had a very tragic time - married in 1902, they had 3 daughters in the first three years of their marriage, but all died before they were a year old.
