* IGNORE THIS it's  bloomfield not Broomfield

1951  George Bloomfield goes from Liverpool to Montreal gives brather year as 1910

Or
1943 to Vancouver birth year given 1906

Don't know if either  could be your great grandfather

There are several George Broomfield s on boats to China Canada Australia after 1929
Might be worth looking at each to see if you can find a cook
I wonder how old he was ...compared to Sybil

You said somewhere that Sybil and Cyril were baptised together as Lipscomb in 1905 have you seen this record ?

We don't know yet it Ethel made up the name Ambrose or actually married someone with that surname .

I like Isa s finding of George Ambrose Huntly. .he could be Sybil birth father but u likely to be Cyril s father if he married in Bedford in 1902

Sybil however passed on Ansell family DNA - so more likely that George Ansell was her father.

I am having difficulty finding the birth of my Great Grandmother. I have a baptism record that I am quite confident is correct.

It says that she was born 9th Aug 1899, I am attempting to use this date to find a birth record, as I don't know what surname she was registered as (Her father seems to have been married to another woman at the time of birth).

The reason for posting; I was wondering if there was a set time that the birth would've been registered by. I see that nowadays you must register a birth within 42 days, I am assuming a similar thing applied back then, but I cannot seem to find any info online.

Thanks.

Can you give us her full name(s) and which county she was born in.  Also her mothers full name.

If she was illegitimate - have you looked under her mothers surname for a birth?
