James Palmer b 1890 Marylebone
« on: Thursday 31 May 18 12:16 BST (UK) »
The above seems to have been born to the Albury family as at 1891 aged 11 months he is with Elijah Albury bc1841  as his grandson, also living there were Elijah's wife and children including Martha b1863 and her husband Samuel Christian at Devonshire Street, St Marylebone.
I am wondering whether he is Martha's child as at 1901 Martha and Samuel are at
83 Vauxhall Bridge Rd, Westminster with a daughter Nita E Christian aged 7 whose birth was recorded as Palmer.
By 1911 Samuel had passed away and Martha was living with her brother Sydney at 48 Alfred St, Islington and with her are James and Nita Palmer, recorded as nephew and niece.
Nita seems to have married a Spackman (whom I can't find) who had passed away by 1939 and then she married Francis J Christian Q3 1940. James seems to have disappeared after 1911.
It seems to be a very strange affair seeing as Martha m Samuel 21 Feb 1889, was Samuel their father by proxy?

So Martha and Nita both married someone called Christian - were they related as well?

Thank you for your excellent research, John F and Nita were cousins sharing the same grandparents.
Must have been strange Nita and James being recorded as Palmer when their 'father' was Christian-or was he in reality their father-another mystery?

As they were registered as Palmer their birth certificates should hold the answer
