Searching for Crick Ancestors.
« on: Friday 01 June 18 05:58 BST (UK) »
I am searching for any ancestors of John Crick (abt1814-1848) from Middlesex - siblings, more information on parents etc. His wife was Emma Dunkley (1818-1907). The only information I can find on Ancestry is that his parents are John & Anne Crick.  One of their children - Benjamin Crick is my great grandfather. Should I be looking on other sites?
Morrison - Killyleagh, Down ; Middleton- Killyleagh, Down; Crick - Middlesbrough & London;

Mary Ann 30
**John 26 sawyer

notes
Thomas was baptized St Anne' Limehouse 4 November 1821 parents John and Elizabeth Crick

George baptized 19 March 1826 All Saints Poplar, parents John and Elizabeth.

An earlier baptism of a William 21 March 1813 at All Saints parents John and Elizabeth.

each time the father is a sawyer.

His first wife Elizabeth must have died between 1826 and 1831

Do you have the death Certificate for John Crick who dies 1848?

John (senior) is still alive 1851 with his second wife Margaret and children.

So is the transcription on the new GRO website incorrect should it be age 32, only a copy of the certificate could sort this out, I haven't found a burial record yet.

Found a burial 6 September 1848 at Tower Hamlets, All Saints Poplar for John Crick age 32.

so the new GRO index is 20 years off.

ADDED
Elizabeth Crick  age 42 is also buried All Saints Poplar, 28 December 1829

Benjamin Crick was born 29 October 1842 baptized 30 October 1842, St Anne's Limehouse
son of John Crick, sawyer and Emma his wife of Poplar

William was born 6 November 1844 baptized 21 Feb 1847

Joseph born 1847

Benjamin baptized All Saints Poplar 22 December 1848.

The record definitely states Benjamin but I wonder if this is Joseph's baptism

I have sent for the certificate for John Crick's death from GRO to see what it says. I didn't know John Crick Senior had a second wife. Thanks for that information. It all adds to my tree
