St Martins Tipton
« on: Saturday 02 June 18 09:10 BST (UK) »
Hello, can anyone who has birth records of Tipton please help to search for Robert Brown 1814 Tipton coalminer, I would love to know if he had siblings and most importantly who were his parents.
Robert was married to Mary Fereday at St Martins Tipton. Thanks for any help.

As the marriage took place pre Civil Registration father's names won't be included.
The marriage is on FreeREG but only gives witnesses: Thomas Shorthouse & Daniel Williams.
The only other info is that they were bachelor & spinster.

The 1851 census notes that Robert was born in 1814. The 1841 notes 1802 - 1806 because of rounding ages down, however his burial record in 1854 notes that he was age 55. Sadly though no record of him in Staffordshire. Mary's birth in Tipton 1816 and Roberts burial are on Free Reg.

Thank you, yes I had noticed he had different birth dates on those two census. Sadly he’s son James died whilst working down the mine from a seam of coal falling on him,I wonder this was he’s fate also.
